No, The VST uses a patented "Ideal Waveform" that is completely comfortable to the patient and intensity will be determined by the physician according to the patient's diagnosis.

How long should each treatment with the VST last for? Page Top
Studies show one hour treatments with the VST achieved the greatest results for all diagnosis. Also, the number of treatments and duration will be determined by the prescribing physician.

Where should the electrodes be placed on the patient for maximum results? Page Top
All VST's will have a User's Manual, which will contain suggested pad placement for various diagnoses. Pad placement for each patient will ultimately be determined by the prescribing physician, along with electrical stimulation intensity.

What types of maintenance does the VST require?  Page Top
The VST contains a rechargeable battery that will need to be re-charged as needed. The charger is simple and built in to the face plate of the VST. Also, a digital battery life readout is displayed when the VST is turned on.
